“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”
     – George Washington

In the past year I’ve gotten a bit away from doing what I love to do the most, doing what brought me to where I am, and that is writing daily. I’ve been either busy with radio, with television, or with my book. I plan on returning to that in the new year. This past year of my life was stressful. I prayed a lot. I asked God “why” a lot and was frustrated when my timeline and His timeline were unsynchronized. It’s when I think I am so faithful that I realize I still have much yet to learn and a relationship with Christ that will never stop growing. And oh, how He’s gotten me through this year and past its trials. I am thankful for my Savior. His will. My faith is my buoy. My wonderful, beautiful family is my buoy. My friends, another this year we lost too soon, are my buoy. I’m so thankful for all of them and for the wise counsel many have provided this past year.

I’m thankful for all of you, for supporting me, for praying for me, sending words of encouragement. I love all of it and the idea that anyone would take time of of their hectic day and say a prayer for me and my family is still a truly humbling thing.

I’m thankful for my family at Emmis Communications for their support and encouragement over the year. I’m thankful for the team that keeps my radio program running day in and day out, five days a week: My bosses John Beck, Jeff Allen; my show staff of Kevin, Liz, Kane, and unofficial addendum Jason Church. I’m thankful for all of my sponsors for their faith in me and continued support. I’m thankful for my new family over at The Blaze. Truly wonderful people dedicated to pursuit of truth who have been absolutely amazing with which to work in just my few days with the company. I am so excited at what we have in store. I’m thankful for the efforts of people like Keith Urbahn, Matt Latimer; my amazing editor Kate Hartson of Hachette/Center Street; Eric Kayira, George Hiltzik, and the producers with whom I work on a weekly basis.

I still have a couple more things to share with you in the coming weeks, some possibly before the year is finished. I am grateful for you on this journey.

Thank you and may you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
