Thank goodness I had a shot of steroids along with my antibiotic yesterday to fight strep because it was a long night thanks to Texas. Some initial takeaways:

– Now that Bloomberg unceremoniously dropped out of the primary and endorse Joe Biden this morning that puts Biden in a better position for Michigan and later states as Bloomer was chewing away at his vote count. Texas might have been decided earlier if both Warren and Bloomer were out, but the difference between Biden and Bernie Sanders (final 32.9% vs Sanders’s 29.8%) is decisive enough. Granted, it may give Biden only a handful more delegates than Sanders, but the optics will provide fuel for a longer surge and more donors.

– Biden promised to bring on the El Paso Furry (Beto O’Rourke) as his Take Their Guns Czar. Keep this on your radar. With Bloomberg out, Biden will have to both satiate Sanders’s far-left base and be the “centrist” (in appearance only) for the less accepting of blatant socialism Democrats. Remember: Biden is virtually Sanders, just on a different time table. The speed with which someone wants to push socialism on the nation doesn’t determine whether it’s socialist or not, the actual policies do.

– I said last night and on air today that voters didn’t reject socialism on Super Tuesday, they rejected Bernie.  This published today is a good read.

– Some have asked me why I wouldn’t want someone like Bernie to face off against Trump in November. While I think Biden is more competition, I don’t see Trump losing. I also think it’s entirely possible to have a the debate on socialism vs capitalism without having an avowed socialist (but actually a communist) on a party ticket. It goes against my American DNA to be cool with a socialist or communist on a party ticket.

I’ll be on “Fox and Friends” tomorrow morning in the 7amCT hour, tune in if you’re heading in to work.
