Yesterday I questioned the veracity of a Mother Jones piece claiming that, based on news coverage shown in an airport, a Bloomberg “moms” member was spat upon. From Progressives Today:

So this incident reportedly occurred on April 25 at the Indianapolis airport after the concourse television aired a report on the Every Town for Gun Safety protest outside the NRA convention?

That’s odd – the TV report never made it on the Everytown for Gun Safety website.
And, since the Indianapolis airport airs CNN on their TV screens you’d think you could find their report on the protest on their website, right?
Nope. It’s not there.
CNN has no record of the protest.

TV Eyes also has no record of Jennifer Longdon on cable news on April 25.

It looks like Mother Jones was just caught in a lie.

So Progressives Today did the journalistic work of vetting a story that Mother Jones couldn’t be bothered to do. Mother Jones owes a retraction.

The Senior Editor for Mother Jones, Mark Follman, first remarked that I must hate my sex because I questioned the veracity of his story.

Actually, I said this:

Again, if true, awful, and I’ll be the first to go toe to toe with these folks. But I’m finding it hard to believe considering how many times this Bloomberg group has lied — about me as well — since its inception. So, crowded, public airport, government property, video cameras everywhere, the spitting incident should be easy to prove yes? Let’s get that tape or a handful of witnesses. Let’s get police statements. If I were Bloomberg that’s exactly what I’d do to try to end the dispute — and if I were pushing this piece, that’s what I’d do to vet it before running it.

Not only was Mother Jones dishonest in their original post, but their senior editor was dishonest as to my original remark. Given the lack of honesty shown time and time again by this group and this website, is it any wonder that they would manufacture a story to promote an agenda?
