Last week on my radio program I discussed this story. In doing so I aparently angered a racist still angry that Republicans supported black Americans's gun rights. This is the first time I ever responded to such a hateful email, but not the first time I've shared such. Enjoy the interesting conversation below.

I keep hearing you bash the South on gun control. In fact their firearms were taken because:

The Republicans armed the blacks to kill Southerners through the Negro League and Freedmans Bureau.

So here's a tip get it right when you tell the story………. And yes I'm from southern Missouri. Stoddard county to be precise.

He kept on from there. For example:

Loesch is a German name so naturally you would use the Yankee argument.

You're ignorant to the fact that the Republicans were the liberals and the Dems were the conservatives. Shall I go on? For the rest of the ramblings and insults? Typical liberal women's lib ramblings. Now for the most idiotic statement yet, let's see; leave Southern Missourians alone? I am one. You are not . You are a Galvanized Yankee….look it up. You're just a carpetbagger that went to Texas to work for a bigger woman, than yourself……….Glenn Beck!!

(Loesch is my married name. I'll leave out the part about my ancestors on the Trail of Genocide.)

He apparently felt shame when I included his email as part of my weekly “Mailbag of Hate” so he threatened to call a lawyer and demanded my phone number. There's a reason why there is a disclaimer by my contact (and a reminder auto-responder): anything you send can and will (hate mail, not so much with other correspondence or tips) be read on air and your information shared. So think twice and maybe don't send a hateful nutjob tirade to a public figure.
