Buried in Kevin McDermott’s latest sycophantic DSCC piece was this bit from a McCaskill supporter:

“When I first learned Akin was going to run for the U.S. Senate, I was shocked. And now I’m shocked that he even has a chance,” said George Smreker, 53, a lawyer from Chesterfield.

He said he been able to see both McCaskill and Akin up close in the past when he worked on General Assembly matters in Jefferson City.

“McCaskill is not only sharp, I would characterize her as a bulldog,” he said. “When she gets going on something, you don’t really want to get in her way.” [my emphasis]

Cue the LIBERAL RAGE®. If memory serves, “George” Smreker is Richard Smreker, a lobbyist from back when Akin was in the Missouri state legislature. I’m inclined to give McDermott the benefit of the doubt on the name, but his previous error-addled work makes me think this is the same lobbyist. That said, McDermott has written quite a bit in an effort to make Akin’s remark on McCaskill tantamount to calling her a dog—oddly though, Smreker calling her a “bulldog” didn’t trip McDermott’s LIBERAL RAGE® meter.

Probably because Smreker is a Democrat.
