Hopefully Republicans in Missouri realize that they hold a supermajority and override this veto. Nixon’s logic?
“Under this bill, newspaper editors around the state that annually publish photos of proud young Missourians who harvest their first turkey or deer could be charged with a crime,” the governor said in a written statement announcing the veto.
Oh forever more. As a member of a family who hunts every season, the vast majority of papers have these items submitted to them for inclusion. Secondly, it identifies willing hunters who knowingly participate and are aware of public commendation (which is why some participate in such hunts), not gun owners who work to keep their information private.
Nixon’s sudden concern over gun owners’s rights is incredibly ironic.
