Today on my show on The Blaze I spoke with Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of Sweet Cakes bakery in Oregon, which was recently fined $135,000 due the the “mental rape” they allegedly inflicted by declining to make a wedding cake for a same sex couple. Melissa Klein admitted that the battle had affected her passion for baking, which she tearfully described as a personal artistic expression. Watch both parts here:
The Kleins said that they would appeal the decision and fight for their faith. It's important to note that when the incident happened, same sex marriage was not legal in Oregon; additionally, the Oregon Labor Commissioner, Brad Avakian, is an outspoken supporter of same sex marriage and said previously that his goal is to “rehabilitate” businesses that do not comply.
