The weekend is here, so let’s party with this depressing statistic:
A new report finds that Americans die younger and contract sexually transmitted diseases more than any other high-income country in the world.
The study – sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – found that the U.S. ranked last or near the bottom of key health areas despite spending more on health care per capita than any other nation.
It’s completely shocking to think that our insistence to preach emotional maturity before sexual maturity would lead to such a statistic! A society which promotes responsible entertainment like this:
On the CBS Late Show Thursday, Girls star Lena Dunham said that not only is NBC’s Brian Williams often on the set for the filming of this sex-packed HBO program, the cast jokes about having a “BriWi-cam” on him to gauge his reactions to his daughter Allison’s sex scene.

Defying societal expectations of how parents should react to their children engaged in gratuitous simulated sex on national television is the pinnacle of parental pride. How to represent it upon the fireplace mantle, though, between the track trophies and geography bee awards?
On Monday and Tuesday, folks were hyperventilating about ESPN’s Brent Musberger having commented during the NCAA National Championship football game about how pretty the girlfriend of Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron was.
Look, I have no issues with adults employing their free will to engage in sex scenes, but insisting that it’s something over which to be proud—as in “hang it on the wall next to the spelling bee award” proud—seems like a lowering of the bar.
