Why can&#8217;t I be a member of La Raza? NAACP? NOW? In fact, I emailed the President of NOW about starting a chapter here in St. Louis City, seeing that the nearest chapter from my location is two hours away.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/danaloeschradio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/NOW.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10900 lazyload\" title=\"NOW\" data-src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/danaloeschradio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/NOW.jpg?resize=817%2C227&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"817\" height=\"227\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 817px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 817\/227;\" \/><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10900\" title=\"NOW\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/danaloeschradio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/NOW.jpg?resize=817%2C227&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"817\" height=\"227\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a woman in St. Louis I think it would be invaluable to have a NOW group comprised of those from all walks of life, all sexes, all beliefs, to join the group.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve proposed some\u00a0unofficial\u00a0suggestions for chapter meetings.<\/p>\n<p>First meeting: Introductions, workshop on how to make sandwiches.<\/p>\n<p>Second meeting: Introductions, new members, workshop on how to properly fold fitted sheets.<\/p>\n<p>Third meeting: Introductions, welcome new members, possible speaker from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2013\/02\/20\/justice\/colorado-rape-prevention-guidelines\" target=\"_blank\">University of Colorado on how to vomit or urinate to ward off would-be rapists<\/a>.\u00a0Comparable workshop on how to select a Personal Defense Weapon, handle it, load it, and shoot the hell out of would-be rapists.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth meeting: Introductions, welcoming new members, workshop in sewing giant floppy vagina costumes from felt! What a wonderful craft!<\/p>\n<p>Fifth meeting: How to walk to Target, Walgreens, Walmart (whichever is closest to our location) and buy our damn birth control.<\/p>\n<p>I think joining now would be amazing.
