That the IRS targets innocent Americans based on ideology and religion is nothing new and that Democrats are behind the abuse is nothing new, either. Bill Clinton notoriously used the IRS to target opponents, be they politicians or news anchors. The question now is how to make an example out of the entity and if their funding and massive restructuring should continue? The punishment should be merciless and swift—swift because the behavior of the IRS poses a legitimate question: will they apply this same ideological bigotry and mitigate health care based on party affiliation?
Recently the White House quietly diverted $500 million to the IRS for the implementation of Obamacare. Hiring to enforce this clusterfark is a major contributor to the federal government’s lower-than-public-sector unemployment rate. Why are we spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a government agency that admitted to abusing taxpayer dollars and its authority to persecute innocent Americans based on beliefs? Democrats talk about “witch hunts” all the time; is this not a witch hunt?
Congress should freeze all expansion, funding, and hiring of, to, and within the IRS immediately. ACORN was defunded by congress for less than this. Calls of “investigation” won’t suffice. I hope there is action to back up the investigation. Demand it.
