Not just persecution of conservatives on political ideology alone, but also Jews. Julian Bond is the chairman emeritus of the NAACP and called the tea party the “American Taliban,” to echo Markos Moulitsas same-titled book.
He said that it is right of the government to look into the Tea Party, which he called “overtly racist” and the “Taliban wing of American politics.”
Nice of the NAACP to now support the very tactics black Americans fought against in the 60s. The IRS audited and harassed Martin Luther King Jr. and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and even entertained the idea of forging memos from King to scare off the group’s investors.
So the question now to the NAACP is was it “legitimate” for the IRS to target King?
