This weekend marked my second trip to Ohio in the past few weeks, this time to Cincinnati (yet bizarrely, you fly to Kentucky and drive across the border. Best Greek salad ever at the Cincy/KY airport in Terminal B). We were there for FreePAC Ohio, a one-day rally and activist training event. Attendees learned how to better refine their GOTV efforts and hear some words of inspiration as we move into the homestretch of this election cycle.

I was sick going into this trip, having spent the week recovering from strep throat, so thanks to all who understood when I offered to elbow-bump them as a greeting instead of infect them by grasping their hand. It was easy to get over it on stage though; the attendees’ energy was enough to cure it. I’ve spoken in front of many a crowd, but it’s been a couple of years since I’ve felt the energy like I felt from the participants yesterday. It reminded me of that 2009 energy. That energy that changed the 2010 election and took the House. That unstoppable energy.

Thanks to FreedomWorks for their tireless work across the country and for another great event.

This was the Sherrod Brown/Al Gore incident I mentioned in my speech.

(Also thanks to Miss Ruth for the bacon brownies and bacon cookies!)

The last FreePAC.
