Anti-coal advocate and self-promoter Van Jones flew into St. Louis today on the luck dragon Falcore for a photo-op during a protest at Peabody Coal. Jones, who called clean coal “fictitious” and who supports President Obama’s desire to bankrupt the coal industry, took a cue from Lisa Fithian and volunteered to be arrested alongside coal miners in front of cameras in a planned photo op.
No word yet as to whether or not these coal miners were aware that Jones advocates for the destruction of their industry and subsequent job losses. Interesting to note: Missouri enjoys some of the most inexpensive energy prices in the country with 84% of our energy produced in coal-powered plants.
